We are still a capitalist society. Capitalism breeds ingenuity. Why don't BP and the government work together to open up opportunities and invitations to all private citizens to gather the resources they need (boats, equipment, methods) and go to work cleaning up the oil spilled in the Gulf while the companies work to stop the leak? Post an open bounty, paying a set dollar amount for every barrel of oil recovered. This would not only generate jobs while getting started toward recovering from this diaster, but it would also stimulate job growth, equipment and vehicle production and also open up the market for more innovative solutions to this disaster. Americans get things done when they have incentive to succeed. Put Americans to work on fixing this mess.
