Dobbins to be honored with Silver Beaver Award

Southeast Missouri State University president Dr. Ken Dobbins will be honored June 5 when he will receive the Silver Beaver Award at the annual meeting of the Greater St. Louis Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Silver Beaver is the highest award a Scout volunteer can receive from a local council. Silver Beaver recipients must be either registered as a Boy Scout leader in the council or be a high-profile community leader. They also must have rendered noteworthy service of exceptional character to youths and served youths and the community outside of Scouting. Dobbins is vice president of the Executive Board of the Greater St. Louis Council, Boy Scouts of America, and has served in this capacity for nine years.
