Dance for the cats and dogs at benefit

The Humane Society of Southeast Missouri has planned a benefit with dinner, drinks and dancing to Mike Smith and the Runaways. Steve Hornbeak and Larry Seyer will return to the Runaways lineup for the event. The benefit "Who Let the Dogs Out" will be from 7 p.m. to midnight May 22 at the Arena Building. Tickets are $10 or $100 for a reserved table of eight. Tickets are available at the Humane Society and Shivelbine's Music.

Conservatory plans two free recitals

Keyboards & Kindermusik teaches piano, keyboard and kindermusik, a method of early education through music and movement. Conservatory students recently received high marks at the Junior Music Festival held by the National Federation of Junior Music Clubs. The free recitals will be at 1 and 3 p.m. May 15 at the First Baptist Church, Cape Girardeau.
