Secure borders, humane policy

When one uses the term "like ants after sugar," one realizes there's a racial bias. I would ask Tim Westrich ("No amnesty for illegal immigrants," April 30): How has an illegal immigrant hurt you? Perhaps they've even enhanced your life without you realizing it.

Don't just think Mexican illegal immigrants. In northern Kentucky I know of at least one German illegal immigrant. Her daughter was student of the week recently.

I do agree with Mr. Westrich that the borders must be secure. The southern border seems to be giving us the most problems. But I believe any youth under age 17 or 18 whose parents are already here should be allowed to come. It's the humane thing to do. I recently saw a news program that showed a child lying flat on top of train, hoping to make it to his mom and dad in America.
