Cape police searching for man suspected of stealing money from Dollar General

Friday, April 30, 2010

A search is underway for a man suspected of stealing money Wednesday from the Dollar General Store in Cape Girardeau. The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. when a man asked a clerk at the store on 724 Broadway to make change for him, according to Sgt. Rick Schmidt of the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Schmidt said after the clerk told the man he would have to purchase an item to receive change, he agreed to buy an item and the clerk rang up the purchase. When the cash register drawer opened, the man grabbed an undisclosed amount of money. Schmidt said the man ran out of the store's front door and headed east on Broadway. No one was hurt, and the suspect never displayed a weapon. Those with information about the crime should call the police department at 335-6621.

Is he white, hispanic, African-American, Native American...etc...

Is he approximately 2ft tall.......8ft tall.....

Does he weigh approximately 20lbs.....2,000lbs...

And apparently he was not wearing any pants....

So...if the guy is wearing a blue sweatshirt, sunglasses, a camo dew rag and no pants, he should be pretty easy to spot. Otherwise, I really think a better description is called for here.

I agree with USAFGuy: An actual USEFUL description would be nice.

USAFGuy and SteveM

This is pretty standard reporting on crimes. I just move on to the next "in depth story" when I see these types of be on the look out articles.
