Mildred L. Honey, 90, of Tamms, Ill., died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Tamms to Elmer and Clara (Powless) Lingle. She married Howard Honey on Dec. 24, 1938. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage together and he preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1999.
She was a member of the Tamms Baptist Church and a homemaker. She lived for and loved her family very much. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved working Find-A-Word puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail (Dick) Palmer of West Vienna, Ill.; two sons, Danny (Audrey) Honey of Mounds, Ill., and Paul Dean (Joan) Honey of Carterville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Rick Palmer, Kent Honey, Gary Palmer, Paula Fleege and Angie Cross; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Bernice (Clarence) Johnson of Haynes City, Fla., and Helen (Bob) Hawkins of Sycamore, Ill; a sister-in-law, Elsie Lingle of Cape Girardeau; a brother-in-law, Mark Lentz of LaSalle, Ill.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a great-grandson, three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
