Tommy Sowers is appealing to small donors in large numbers and that's a plus. He is a fresh voice for the 8th district focusing on jobs, poverty, business growth, and stopping the slide of jobs lost. I am proud he is in support of Health Care because it shows he cares about people who don't have insurance (98,000 in Missouri) and those who get worked over by their insurance policies. This is a good first step to getting us out of the morass of health care which will take some 25% of our gross national product if it isn't fixed. Tommy is unafraid to put his boots into this problems.

Yanno, game over with the Pelosicare. Frankly, she sorta makes my skin crawl. As for me, I think I'd relax at Glenn Echo Park in Bethesda and think of better days. Southeast MO and the region have deep, structural problems, and the echo chamber of big PAC money's done a pretty good job so far in hiding that. Nice evening for sitting in Indian Park and pondering this. What a pretty day. Not as nice as Mountain Home, but pretty. Tommy Sowers, Mr. Bill, and Bob Parker and Larry Vand at least provide a perspective of a democracy, not a PAC funded addiction. Yours in G*d. I, for one, will sleep well tonight and not worry about updating a resume.

I don't give money to political candidates because like most good folks I don't need any snake oil. Now, bigshots from New York City who like meddling in Missouri politics, on the other hand... I'll bet those "small donors" wrote "big checks." What do you think they have been promised in return?

Tommy is sure proud to take money from the liberal elites in New York. He will be another liberal lap dog for Nancy Pelosi. That's the reason he's not telling us where he stands on the issues. The only one that he has come out for is Obamacare, and that is the largest tax increase in history.

Oh yeah. Jo Ann Emerson raises over 50% of her campaign contributions from PACs but she cares not a whit about their issues. She only cares about us folks here in Southern Missouri. Got it, y'all?

Jo Ann Emerson is not a conservative. The ultra-liberal Americans for Democratic Action rates her at 65%. The American Conservative Union rates her at 56%. The American Taxpayers Union grades her at C minus. The only two Republicans in the United States Congress who are more liberal than Jo Ann Emerson are Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins both of Maine. No thinking person could believe that Jo Ann Emerson is a conservative. And no thinking person could believe for one second that she cares anything about the Eighth District of Missouri other than we are her ticket to a seat in Congress.

I have been a life long conservative Republican. However, in recent months I have changed my mind on the two party systems. I will not support Jo Ann or this Pelosi disciple, Tommy Sowers. This is the year for Independent candidates to come forward. We cannot sustain this republic as long as we have a government that spends uncontrollably with no accountability of their actions.

OK, cjb2m5, how much of Mrs. Gladney's money came from PACs and special interest groups? How much of Tommy Sower's came from individuals?

I contributed to Scott Brown's Senate campaign. Does that mean he is bought and paid for by a Missourian? Of course not. It just means that I am a concerned American who believed in his candidacy.

Actually I am very much in touch with the people who live and vote in the Eighth District. I am one of them. I am also one who contributed to a candidate other than Mrs. Gladney. And while you may well be correct about her receiving "a ton of individual contributions from the 8th district" I have a news flash for you. There are more individuals in the Eighth District who contributed to a different candidate during the last election cycle.
