New mayor, council members to be sworn in today

Cape Girardeau's new mayor, Harry Rediger, and three city council members elected Tuesday will be sworn into office today. The current city council will meet at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall, 401 Independence St., to certify the results of Tuesday's election. The swearing-in ceremony will follow for Rediger, re-elected council member John Voss of Ward 1, Meg Davis-Proffer of Ward 2 and Kathy Swan of Ward 6.
