Pearline Kruse, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born May 16, 1918, in Parma, Mo., daughter to Thomas and Elizabeth Bruce Leathers. She and Thomas C. Kruse were married Jan. 22, 1938. He died June 29, 2008.
Pearline grew up in Dexter, Mo., and was an inspector at Elder Manufacturing in Dexter. After moving to Cape Girardeau she worked at Woolworth's and was a cook at Washington School.
She was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church, and a life member and past chaplain of Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 3838.
Pearline is survived by a son, Charles Richard (Ruth Ann) Kruse of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Raymond Leathers of West Plains, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jack Ervin, Jackie (Michael) Hammond, Tonya Roper; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers; and a granddaughter, Tami.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time today at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
