Travel consultant Berghoff receives specialist certification

Susan Berghoff is now a Gold Certified Sandals Specialist. Berghoff is starting her 14th year as a travel consultant with 1st Class Travel in Cape Girardeau. Sandals operates all-inclusive beach vacation resorts across the Caribbean. 1st Class Travel specializes in leisure and corporate travel.

Stapleton to attend teachers academy in New Jersey

Stacy Stapleton will attend the 2010 Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy July 18 through 23 at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, N.J. Stapleton is a third-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary in Cape Girardeau. The academy helps third- through fifth-grade teachers to discover new and innovative ways to teach math and science to their students. A total of 1,300 teachers applied for the program and only 100 teachers were selected to attend.

Daniels named VP at Commerce Brokerage Services

Shannon Daniels has been promoted to vice president at Commerce Brokerage Services Inc. Daniels has been with Commerce since April 2004. "Shannon brings to her position a strong base of experience in the securities industry," said Roger Tolliver, Commerce Bank president for the Southeast Missouri region. Daniels is a member of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, president-elect of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, board member of Zonta-Cape Girardeau, sponsorship chair for the American Cancer Society Gala Committee, Relay for Life and Cape Roadrunners. She is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

New stylist, nail tech joins staff at Movie Time salon

Kristin Lane is the newest stylist and the only nail technician on staff at Movie Time Tanning and Salon at 10751 Route W in Fruitland. She recently completed her training at Trendsetters Cosmetology School in Cape Girardeau.
