Parker supports Gun Rights at the Cape County Gun and Knife Show

Bob Parker and Kenny Collins after a successful turkey hunt on his Texas County, Mo ranch.

Thousands of visitors came to the Gun and knife Show at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau last weekend. Included in the mix of shotguns and rifles was Candidate for 8th district Congress Bob Parker, the rancher from Raymondville.

Parker, his wife Karen and several supporters handed out literature and bumper stickers while explaining that no one supports the second amendment and the right to keep and bear arms more than Parker. Parker explains, ''It's about our freedom and our rights to protect our freedoms and our families.''

''I am a hunter and a shooter but the second amendment is the very teeth of our liberty. We must never give up our rights to keep and bear arms.''

Parker was also one of the candidates speaking at the Cape County Lincoln days last Saturday night to a crowd of about 320 people.

Mr Parker: Who is trying to take your guns away from you? The answer: no one. All you folks think about is wrapping yourself in the flag and shout "God, Guns and Gays." You spin as much as JoAnn and everyone else. I am with the 70% plus of Americans who believe every member of Congress should be replaced. Aside from your BS about gun rights, I hope you gather more votes than JoAnn. You have your hands full as these blind hill billys in southeast missouri will vote for her because they are in love with their liberal congresswomen.

To my knowledge, quotation marks are to be used for a direct quote. Where does the quote "God, Guns and Gays." come from? Does it have anything to do with Bob or his campaign? As far as our 2nd ammendment rights, yes, ALL of our constitutional rights are worthy of protection, and in these days, we do need to keep watch because they are all being chiped away at, in the name of 'progressive socialism'.

Well for one, the ObamaCare Bill has certain gun control measures within it. Two, Billary Clinton just announced days ago that The United States would be a part of the U.N. small arms treaty. Three, Attorney General Eric Holder, an Obama appointee, has stated his intention is to lay groundwork for complete registering of all firearms. I don't know where you get your information ClowdyDoodie but gun control advocates are all over Washington D.C.

Mr. Parker was making reference to a quote from George Washington which states: "Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth'. Without the Second Amendment the others will all eventually fail, the Second Amendment is what sets this country apart from all others.

I for one, want a candidate who puts Gun Rights above all other issues. Guns are not for hunting, that is a benefit of having one, Guns are not for self-defense that is still yet a side benefit of owning a weapon, firearms are for preserving LIBERTY!
