Cape Central Junior High School Cheerleaders competed at the "Jamfest" National Cheerleading Competition in Nashville, TN, recently and brought home the third-place trophy. More than twenty Cape Girardeau sponsors assisted with trip expenses. Team captains are Ashley Westbrook, Kendra Kelch, Brooke Zoellner and Sierra Jones. Cheerleading coach Laura Matlock said, "Our girls worked extremely hard, and finished with a final score placing them less than half a point out of first- place. This trip wouldn't have been possible without the support of our parents and sponsors. " Jessica Grandcolas is the assistant cheerleading coach.
