DuBois enlists in Missouri National Guard

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Natalie Renee DuBois of Cape Girardeau has enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard.

DuBois leaves for basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., in March where she will learn basic Army skills and values and become familiar with her role as a Soldier in the Missouri Army National Guard.

"I really wanted to further my education and to do something I could be proud of," she said. "I know the National Guard will help me accomplish that."

DuBois was recruited by Staff Sgt. Jeremy McGuire of the Missouri Army National Guard's Cape Girardeau office. DuBois is a 2004 graduate of Jackson High School.

DuBois will join the 1140th Engineer Battalion's Forward Support Company upon completion of basic and advanced individual training as a fueler.

"After basic and AIT, I want to finish college and exceed in my military job," DuBois said. "I'm looking forward to the friendships I will make and the satisfaction of helping people. Most important, I want to serve my country."

DuBois is supported in her decision to join the Guard by her parents, Pierre and Becky DuBois of Cape Girardeau. DuBois has a daughter, Jada L. Wade.
