Neil Johnson scored 20 points to lead Woodland past Zalma 62-52 in boys basketball action Friday.

Martin Williams added 11 points, including three 3-points, for the Cardinals.

Justin Stotts netted 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Stephen Simmers added 12 points for the Bulldogs (7-12).

Thad McGregor chipped in six rebounds in the loss.

Last chance meet

Central sophomore Lizzie Schmidt qualified for state in the 100 breaststroke in a last-chance meet for local swimmers to make state cuts.

Schmidt was 1 second off the state cut in her swim during the Show-Me Conference meet Thursday, but cut time Friday for a qualifying time of 1 minute, 13.09 seconds.

Schmidt was the Tigers' lone state qualifier.
