Jackson resident recognized by conservation commission

Jackson resident Thomas L. Dickerson was recognized as the Missouri's Conservation Commission's 2009 Bowhunter Education Volunteer Instructor of the Year. This was the first time this award had been awarded since the adoption of the Missouri Department of Conservation's Bowhunter Education program. As a bowhunter education volunteer instructor, Dickerson often teaches with techniques that help bring the information to life for the students. Some of the volunteer activities that Dickerson offers include an event for mentally and physically disabled, Bowhunter Rendezvous, Cape Girardeau Jakes Day, MoNASP State Tournament, Friend of the NRA events, Missouri Deaf Camp, Hand Camp of Shriners Hospital, and United Bowhunters of Missouri Festival and Rendezvous.
