Thursday, April 21, 2005
Nebraska fans will have another Pancoast to cheer for next fall.
Central senior Jennifer Pancoast recently signed a letter of intent with the University of Nebraska, where she will compete in cross country and track. Pancoast will join older sister Kim Pancoast in Lincoln, Neb.
"I really miss running with her," Jennifer Pancoast said. "We're always pretty competitive."
Jennifer Pancoast is the Tiger's record holder in the 800 and 1,600. Pancoast finished second in the 1,600 at the state meet in 2003 and finished fifth at the cross country state meet in 2002.
Pancoast said her decision came down to Big 12 schools Missouri and Nebraska.
"I really liked both schools a lot. In the end Nebraska was right for me," she said.
Fellow senior Tiger distance runner Holly Shaffer also recently signed to continue her track career. A state qualifier in the 800 last year, Shaffer will compete for Missouri Baptist University. Missouri Baptist recently started its track program and finished fifth in the indoor NAIA national meet last season.

Kline signed to play football for Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. Kline, a kicker, made 26 of 29 extra points and seven of 13 field goals during a state championship season for the Indians.
Armbruster has signed with Forest Park Community College to play baseball. Armbruster, a three-sport athlete, was a first team all-state basketball player and the quarterback for the state champion football team. On the baseball field, Armbruster was 8-1 on the mound last year and hit .403.
