Loren C. Hollman, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Jan. 22, 1926, in St. Peter, Ill., son of August and Lydia Aukamp Hollman. He and Ruby Nickell were married April 17, 1949, in Decatur, Ill.
Loren was a chief engineer 30 years with Mississippi Valley Structural Steel. He later owned/operated Hollman Engineering in Decatur. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Optimist Club of Decatur and American Welding Society.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Hollman of Cape Girardeau; a son, Ted (Michele) Hollman of Windsor, Colo.; a daughter, Elizabeth (Greg) Brown of Dunlap, Ill.; a special niece, Janet Stewart of Cape Girardeau; two stepbrothers, Lloyd Moeller of Dexter, Mo., Fred Moeller of Decatur; four grandchildren, Carly Hollman, Allison Brown, Erick Brown and Neil Brown; a great-nephew, Mark Stewart; and a great-niece, Sara Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Decatur.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Wray Offermann officiating. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery in Decatur.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Saxony Lutheran High School, or March of Dimes.
