How to help Haiti earthquake relief efforts
Monday, January 18, 2010
In the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti last week, many organizations are raising funds for relief. Here are some ways to help:n Out of Poverty Through Education: A Cape Girardeau organization dedicated to helping the residents of Thomassique, a city of about 43,000 people near the border with the Dominican Republic. While the group has raised money for a school and well, it is currently working to help Thomassique deal with an influx of refugees from the capital. A donation can be made by mail at Out of Poverty Through Education, 2128 William St., No. 107, Cape Girardeau, MO, 63703 or by calling 334-0930.
