Kenneth Wright, 81, of Millersville died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 27, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, to Oscar and Minnie Hoffmeister Wright. He and Jerry Jean Dickerson were married Aug. 7, 1948. She preceded him in death Nov. 4, 1974.
Wright was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ. He worked for the city of Jackson and Natural Gas Pipeline Co. in Marble Hill, Mo. He enjoyed working on his Millersville farm.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Wright of Union, Mo.; three daughters, Karen (Ron) Mayfield of Jackson, Shirley (Ted) Krueger of Oak Ridge, Brenda (Jerry) Wolfenkoehler of Jackson; a brother, Lester Wright of Jackson; a sister, Ruby Strong of Arnold, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Martha J. Wright of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jerry Jean Dickerson; a son, Donald Wright; two brothers; and a sister.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.
Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be given to Emanuel United Church of Christ, Cottonwood Residential Treatment Center or charity of choice.
