BLODGETT, Mo. -- Elizabeth Claire "Betty" Marshall, 82, formerly of Blodgett, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born May 1, 1927, in Kansas City, Mo., to the late Ralph Frazer and Tessa Inez Huckeby Anderson.
Marshall was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and its Daughters of Isabella and Altar Sodality.
She graduated from Sikeston High School, was a member of the Red Peppers and received a degree in music from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. She taught piano lessons to children in Sikeston many years. She was a member of Blodgett Women's Club, was an election judge and a Democratic committeewoman for Sandywood Township many years.
She and Ben F. Marshall III were married Feb. 23, 1952, in Sikeston. He preceded her in death Dec. 1, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Frank Marshall of Sikeston; three daughters, Mary Beth Beitel of Encampment, Wyo., Sally Kerkorian Hoggard of Jackson, Ellen Swanson of Janesville, Wis.; a brother, William J. Anderson of Clinton, Iowa; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with the Rev. Glenn Eftink, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sikeston City Cemetery.
