Oprah Winfrey recently had a show with a panel of child molesters. The show revealed how a victim could have conflicted feelings about her molester and even feel love for that person. As sick as it seems, the molester may have love for the victim and be in denial that he is doing anthing wrong. It can take years for the victim to realize the full truth about being a victim. Most victims are advised to "get on with your life" and that taking revenge is not satisfying. It would appear that this victim has decided that she wants to damage her molester because he damaged her.

It appears that she did not consider him a threat to the community, thinking that he was a situational molester. However, situational offenders cannot have satisfactory adult relationships. They may be attracted to vulnerable adults because they are not the sterotyped child pedophile. Many vulnerable persons cannot say "No." and be victimized. That is the real danger to the community.

However, these thoughts are only speculation and I do not presume to know the WHOLE truth about this situation. I actually doubt that you as a friend, the victim, or even the molester really know the WHOLE truth. God, alone, knows the WHOLE truth.
