Edna Emelia Sneathen, 78, of Gordonville died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Cape Town Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Gordonville, daughter of Frederick and Verna Barger Ueleke. She and Douglas "Doc" Sneathen were married Jan. 25, 1947, in Cape Girardeau. He died May 15, 1993.
Sneathen was a sales associate for 14 years at Kmart, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville. She graduated Jackson High School in 1945.
Survivors include three sons, William Sneathen and wife Judith of Cape Girardeau, Randy Sneathen of Jackson and Jeffery Sneathen and wife Sandra of Gordonville; two daughters, Carol Ann Berman of St. Louis, Mo., and Cathy Sneathen of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, Sahra Tannikawa, Oliver and Elenor Berman, and Jill, Amanda, Ashley, Jordan and Kaylyn Sneathen; and two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Bayden Tannikawa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Henry Ueleke; two stepbrothers, Ralph and Marvin Clark; and a sister, Anne Ida.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Ann Mowery officiating. Burial will be at the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gordonville.
