Congratulations to Eagle Scout Josh Sellers

Troop 311 of the Boy Scouts of America is proud to announce that Josh Sellers has earned Scouting's highest rank, Eagle Scout. Josh's Eagle Court of Honor was held on October 11th, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Jackson.

Josh began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub Scout in 1999. Since then, Sellers has grown from an energetic young tiger cub to a bright and mature young man. Through scouting, Josh has found himself in the woods of Camp Lewallen in Silva Missouri , the legendary Sangre de Cristo Mountains at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico , and the majestic lakes of Minnesota . From the 2004 Spring Camporee at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport where his troop was blown away by what seemed like a small inland hurricane, to the Benton MO Boomland parking lot because the troop bus blew a tire and was then stranded for 4 excruciating and 44 oz. slushy filled hours.

Scouting has taught him survival skills, civil responsibility, and moral principals. His Eagle Project was a large scale map of the United States painted on the parking lot of Immaculate Conception School in Jackson , MO (supplies donated by Buchheit Inc). Josh hiked a total of 145 miles, camped 95 nights, and earned 21 merit badges.
