BELL CITY, Mo. -- Rodney James Long, 71, of Bell City died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 30, 1933, at Painton, Mo., son of Evans and Georgia Flowers Long. He and Margaret Kinder were married Jan. 24, 1952, at Painton.
Long was a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ricky, Randy and Rona Long of Bell City; three daughters, Debra Surface of Essex, Mo., Tammy Yates of Bell City, Mary Long of Clines Island, Mo.; two brothers, Tommy Long of Houston, Texas, Fred Long of Advance, Mo.; three sisters, Donna Myers of Union, Mo., Linda Stephens of Advance, Vivian Vancoil, address unknown; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Tim Hall officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
