Stoddard County man, toddler injured in weekend accident

SIKESTON, Mo. -- A toddler and Bloomfield, Mo., man were injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday near Sikeston.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports at 9:10 a.m., the accident occurred at Route Y at Route Z, three miles west of Sikeston, as a cotton module truck operated by Steven J. Nelson, 50, of Vanduser failed to yield the right of way and drove into the path of the vehicle driven by Matthew A. Christian, 26, of Bloomfield.

Christian's passenger, 3-year-old Blake Christian of Bloomfield received moderate injuries while his other passenger, Zachary W. Sandage, 27, of Bloomfield sustained minor injuries. They were taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
