Police: No new leads in Capaha Bank robbery case

Friday, November 20, 2009
The Cape Girardeau Police Department had no new leads pointing to a suspect in Thursday's robbery of Capaha Bank at Broadway and Kingshighway, department spokesman Sgt. Jason Selzer said Friday. Investigators were processing evidence Friday "but nothing has given us a pinpoint on anybody," Selzer said. Shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday, a man described as being in his mid-20s walked into the bank, handed the teller a note demanding money and fled. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a blue and white scarf over the bottom half of his face and a gray hooded sweat shirt with the hood over his head. Police are asking that anyone with information regarding Thursday's robbery call the department's confidential tips line at 339-6312. Anonymity is guaranteed. The regular police line is 335-6621.

It's bad when you can rob a bank with a note, lol. If someone tried to rob me with a note I'd spit on em. Banks should be able to keep a piece under the counter like a seven eleven.

The note thing is more common these days than with a gun. Happens all the time and they still give the money.

teweston, you're hired.

seriously, most bank robbers are eventually caught (after spending the $) and will do years in the slammer.
