MoDOT to conduct meetings on Highway 51 projects; Interstate 55 reduced to one lane

Wednesday, November 18, 2009
Meetings on Highway 51 projects set

The Missouri Department of Transportation has scheduled a community briefing for Tuesday in Perryville, Mo., to discuss two upcoming bridge projects on Highway 51. The meeting will offer residents an opportunity to discuss the Bois Brule Creek bridge at McBride, Mo., and the Chester Bridge that crosses the Mississippi River. MoDOT estimates both projects could begin as early as spring 2010. The meeting will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Perry Park Center, 800 City Park Drive in Perryville.

Interstate 55 reduced to one lane

The northbound lane of Interstate 55 in Perry County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform pavement repairs. Weather permitting, work will begin at 6:30 a.m. today and end Thursday at 5 p.m. Work will take place between Route M and County Road 830 and between the northbound ramps at Route B.
