Cape County woman pleads guilty to fraud

A Cape Girardeau County woman pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to four felony counts of credit card fraud, two felony counts of mail fraud, two felony counts of wire fraud and one felony count of bank fraud in connection with an identity theft incident that happened in 2007. Belinda Jo Perkins, 40, pleaded guilty to using the identities of her family members to fraudulently obtain credit cards in those family members' names and make purchases using the cards. Perkins faces a maximum of 30 years in prison and a fine up to $1 million along with a maximum of five years' supervised release on the bank fraud charge. The other six counts range from a maximum of 10 years to 20 years in prison on each count. Sentencing has been set for March 22 in Cape Girardeau.
