She was born March 30, 1932, in Perry County, daughter of Floyd and Pauline Cattoor Hagan. She and Roy Layton were married Aug. 26, 1978, at Perryville.
Layton had been a cook at Perry County Nursing Home, and also worked at International Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Bill Goodspeed of Centralia, Ill.; two sisters, Velma Brightwell of Ferguson, Mo., Sandra Greenamay of O'Fallon, Mo.; a brother, Robert Hagan of Jefferson City, Mo.; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a grandson.
Friends may call at St. Vincent's Church Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 am. Friday at the church, with the Rev. William Thess officiating. Burial will be private.
Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
