Area roads reduced for MoDOT work

* Two highways in Scott County will be reduced to a single lane of traffic while Missouri Department of Transportation crews make routine bridge repairs. Northbound Interstate 55 and Route E will have restricted traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. today while the repairs take place on the I-55 bridge over Route E. The locations with lane closures are two miles north of Highway 77 on I-55 and 1 1/2 miles east of Benton, Mo., on Route E.

* U.S. 61 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to a single lane of traffic today while Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance. The restriction will be in place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a section of road between Brittany Drive and Old Cape Road.

* Highway 34 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane today while Missouri Department of Transportation employees make bridge repairs. The restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a section of road from Indian Springs Road to Cane Creek Lane.
