Dora Morgan Celebrates 103rd birthday

Dora Morgan with her cake as she celebrates with family and friends.

Even though Mrs. Morgan has celebrated her 103rd birthday she is still quite active. Each morning she watches her story on tv then she goes out to sweep the leaves from a very large driveway. She also works some in their little garden, having seen something this year that she had never seen before in her years of growing sweet potatoes--they had blooms on them. I myself, and others experienced the same thing this year.

In the winter she likes to crochet, quilt and sew. On occasion in the summer you will see her sitting outside in the swing at her daughter's house where she now resides.

Mrs. Morgan started her spiritual journey when she was saved and baptized in an open stream in October 1927, when she was 18 years old. She holds membership in the Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church near Zalma, having been a member there for 82 years. She is their oldest living member and currently has the honor of being the one with the most years as a member. Long live the likes of Dora Morgan. Her mother died at the age of 98 with pneumonia.
