Welter - 50 Years

Mr. and Mrs. James Welter of Cape Girardeau recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, dinner and dance at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City.

Welter and Carol Ann Hamm were married Oct. 10, 1959, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Mo. Matron of honor was Luella Kielhofner, and bridesmaids were Marian Holder and Lillian Angle. Best man was Bud Holder, and groomsmen were Melvin Hamm and the late Gilbert Hamm.

The couple has two children, Tim (Laurie) Welter of Cape Girardeau, and Sheila (Vic) Ortega of Springfield, Mo. They have four granddaughters, Kaitlin and Alexis Welter of Cape Girardeau, and Emily and Nicole Ortega of Springfield.
