ST. LOUIS -- Missouri's electric customers of AmerenUE should look for a credit on their bills in the coming months.
The utility said that starting in October, it will give credits to residential customers of roughly 40 cents a month. The adjustment is due to lower fuel costs.
The credit will appear on customers' bills as a new line item. AmerenUE said if its fuel costs had exceeded base rates, the line item would have appeared as a charge.
The Missouri Public Service Commission earlier this year let AmerenUE credit or charge customers for changes in net base fuel costs.
Fuel costs dropped between March and May, prompting the utility to credit customers.
