Hooked on Science: Dry water

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Did you know dry water exists? Create your own by using two items from the kitchen.

* Water

* Ice cube tray

STEP 1: Pour the water into the ice cube tray.

STEP 2: Place the ice cube tray into the freezer.

STEP 3: After several hours remove the ice cube tray from the freezer and observe dry water.

Water can exist in three states: a liquid, a solid and a gas. When you placed the ice cube tray in the freezer the water froze, creating a solid or dry water.
