OLD TOWN CAPE ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF 2009 GLENN HOUSE ORNAMENT

Old Town Cape's 2009 Glenn House Ornament.

Cape Girardeau, MO -- Old Town Cape announces the release of its 2009 Christmas ornament depicting The Glenn House. The 2009 ornament is a limited edition, numbered piece produced by Hestia and is the thirteenth in a series.

The ornament is a specially designed image depicting The Glenn House. The Glenn House is a charming, historic home in the Old Town Cape district. It is on the National Register for Historic Places and was built in 1883 by Edwin Dean for his daughter, Lulu and her husband David A. Glenn. The house was restored to 1900 and is open for tours.

Past ornaments include: The River Campus, Port Cape Girardeau, the Red House Interpretive Center, Marquette Hotel, Old Lorimier School (now City Hall), Old St. Vincent's Church, and a Millennium depiction (fireworks over Old Town Cape). Five ornaments: the Courthouse and Clock, Academic Hall, Old Mississippi Bridge, Emerson Bridge, and Southeast Missourian Building are no longer available. However, supplies of the remaining ornaments are still available for sale. A special price is available for the sale of a set.

In addition to the Old Town Cape office, businesses selling the ornaments are Bob's Shoe Service, Broadway Prescription Shop, Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau, C.P McGinty's, Hutson's Fine Furniture, Jayson's Jewelers, Lang's Jewelers, Knaup Floral, Pastime Antiques, Renaissance, Shivelbine's Music, and Zickfield Jewelers.

The ornaments will also be available at the Red House Heritage Days on Saturday, October 3.
