Appreciation for school workers

I read with interest a recent Speak Out comment about the lack of appreciation for "the workers behind the scenes" at our local schools.

I am happy to report that at Scott City schools we do recognize these special workers. Custodial Appreciation Day was held Sept. 11. Our custodians were showered with lovely treats, notes and pictures from our students and staff. Also, our awesome PTO officers made individual cakes for these hard-working people.

On Nov. 6, we will celebrate our teacher assistants with a similar recognition day.

Kindness matters at Scott City schools, and we try to show it every day and to everyone, no matter their job description or title.
