Classroom aides are truly angels

Too often in life, we fail to mention good things we observe. On Sept. 10 I was the substitute teacher for Ann Presnell's special services class at Jackson High School. I was amazed at the work being done by the aides assigned to these students. Susie, Della, Rhonda, Amy and Elyse worked in a choreographed fashion to meet the needs of each student. They were in and out, up and down all day.

They made a difficult day seem effortless. They went through the day smiling, hugging and encouraging each student. I was overwhelmed at the level of patience, caring and compassion I observed all day long. I asked one lady if she likes her job, and she replied, "I love my job!" I belive her. They worked very hard and celebrated victories throughout the day. I have always maintained that those who are preschool and early childhood teachers should be the highest paid people in this world. I would like to amend that statement to include these wonderful ladies and others like them who do great work with much love each and every day. They reaffirmed my faith that there are still angels among us.
