Safe House for Women will provide an overview of their services to LGBT group

Safe House for Women will provide an overview of their services to a local LGBT group on Wednesday, Sept 23rd at 7pm at the Cape Girardeau Public Library. Between 25% and 33% of relationships between lesbians, gay, bisexual, or transgender partners include abuse, a rate equal to that of heterosexual relationships (www.wtcskansas.org/.) Most abuse by same sex partners does not get reported and victims feel they have no one to turn to. The Safe House for Women provides services to all populations regardless of race, sexual orientation, or gender. They provide a 24-hour crisis hotline service available to domestic and sexual violence victims. Their Outreach Office has free counseling, court advocacy and public awareness. If you would like more information about the Safe House for Women please call 573-335-7745 or visit them online at www.semosafehouse.org.
