Cape Central Concert Band to perform at state conference

Cape Central High School Concert Band has been selected as a performing ensemble at the Missouri Music Educators Association's 72nd Annual conference in January. Paul Copenhaver, MMEA President, said, "There were 120 applications for performance submitted this year." Central's Concert Band was chosen after out-of-state panels reviewed recordings from schools vying for the honor of performing at the conference.

"This is quite an honor for our Concert Band", said Cape Central Music Director Neil Casey. "It is certainly on par with the many accomplishments achieved by the Cape Central Marching Tigers. Our students work hard to achieve excellence in every facet of our band program."

Casey said this will be the first time the concert band has performed at the MMEA convention. The performance is scheduled for 2:30 pm on Friday, January 29 at the Tan-Tara-A resort.
