Former Scott County jail officer charged with having sex with inmate

BENTON, Mo. -- A former Scott County correctional officer was arrested Wednesday on charges he had sexual contact with a prisoner in the county jail. According to a probable-cause statement by Lt. Jerry Bledsoe, Michael P. Proctor, 26, of Chaffee, Mo., was caught on a surveillance camera leading a female offender into the jail's inmate property room. Red flags went up because inmates are not permitted in the property room, the statement said. The camera captured the two entering the room, staying about five minutes, and then leaving empty-handed, according to the sworn statement. When sheriff's deputies interviewed the inmate, she admitted to having consensual sex with Proctor. Proctor confessed to the sex acts in subsequent interviews, the statement said. Proctor is being held in the Scott County Jail on $2,500 cash or surety bond.

Not suprising he is from chaffee..... sems alot of police scandal comes out of chaffe in one way or another

Michael is from Benton not Chaffee. Crime happens in all of our towns and cities, not just Chaffee. He's only lived here a few years. It's pitiful what his wife will now have to go through. His family must be devastated.

He'll likely face rape and sodomy charges and a lifetime on the sex offenders list.

Maybe he should write a book (or 'short' story) entitled "How to screw up your life and family in five minutes or less".

Truly sad for his family.

No rape or sodomy charges.

RSMo 566.145 (sex with a prisoner or inmate) is the statutory crime he is charged with.

What a JERK! He has a wife, young son, and a baby that isn't even a month old yet! How low can you be to have a 5 minute thrill with a skank?(And yes, she is a skank because I know her personally.) I feel sorry for the wife and sons of Michael. Heck, anyone who is related to him has to deal with this embarrassing act!!! He deserves whatever he has coming to him. I hope his wife leaves his sorry *** for sure!

What kind of an idiot doesn't know that his place of employment has surveillance cameras? Not that I am suggesting he shouldn't have done what he did for that reason alone, but, come on, that's pretty stupid. But then all of his actions surrounding this incident are stupid. If you looked at that wedding announcement, he has a lovely wife, and from what the comments have said, he just had a new baby. For crying out loud, who throws it all away for a full five minutes of whatever kind of sexual encounter it was? This guy must be a real loser!

jmg, any comments we make are nothing compared to the embarassment he has caused his family, and as far as offending them, the way I see it, the remarks are directed solely at him and not his family.

Come on folks, lighten up on the boy! He made a bad mistake. WE HAVE ALL MADE THEM! Move on to something else for the sake of the families involved in this. Think how they feel!

YES, you have made them, but you are apprently to "perfect in your mind" to ever admit. I'm sure your family is perfect (in your mind)but keep in mind, something bad could, at some time, happen to YOU too.

YOU have a wonderful wife and family, and you threw it all away for 5 minutes of trashy "sex" ???? The inmate should be punished too... She sure wasn't forced. although that may become her "story" To the wife and family...I am sooo sorry you have to go through this horrible ordeal.....

Wow. I'm repeatedly surprised how rude and unforgiving people can be. It certainly is a shame, but why are we judging? He is certainly feeling the reprocussion of his decision-as is his family-no need to rub it in. Who among us hasn't made a bad decision? Most were just fortunate enough not to get caught.
