Accident on Route K results in injuries

Emergency personnel remove Kathryn Drury, 50, of Cape Girardeau from a Honda Accord that was involved in an accident with a Toyota Tacoma pickup Wednesday morning on Route K at County Road 318 west of Cape Girardeau. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Drury was attempting to make a left turn onto Route K and drove into the path of the pickup driven by Carl Eakins, 60, of Cape Girardeau. Drury was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center with moderate injuries. Eakins was taken to Saint Francis by private vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
