Groundbreaking set for 9 a.m. today in Uptown Jackson

The Jackson Chamber of Commerce, the Missouri Department of Transportation and the city of Jackson will hold a groundbreaking at 9 a.m. today at the intersection of High and Main streets for the Jackson Uptown Historic District streetscape project. Enhancements to High Street between Main and Adams streets will include historic lighting, sidewalk pavers, waste receptacles, bicycle racks and benches. Construction is set to begin Tuesday, with a completion date of Feb. 5.
