Cape Girardeau man pleads guilty to drug, weapon charges

Nathaniel Carter Wooley, 34, of Cape Girardeau pleaded guilty in federal court to one felony count of possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He appeared before U.S. District Judge Steven Limbaugh Jr. Tuesday and now faces 15 years to life, a fine of up to $250,000 or both. Sentencing has been set for Oct. 30. With the plea, Worley admitted to transporting pseudoephedrine pills for the purpose manufacturing methamphetamine. On Feb. 4, 2008, a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper discovered Worley's vehicle in the median and Worley slumped over the wheel. A search of the vehicle uncovered drug paraphernalia and a bolt-action rifle.
