SIKESTON, Mo. -- Carl Irvin Thomann, 84, of Sikeston died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 25, 1920, at Morehouse, Mo., son of Irvin M. and Lillie B. West Thomann. He and Samantha C. Tanner were married March 15, 1940, at Benton, Mo. She died Feb. 27, 2004.

Thomann was owner of Circle Gas Co. He was a truck driver all his life, having worked for W.S. McMullin Construction Co., Kellett Oil Co., and Moore Co. He was a lifelong member of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Thomann of Paducah, Ky.; a daughter, Carlene Tinsley of Sikeston; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gaylord Grindstaff officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
