In Saturday's article about Canal Wood Corp., the distribution of grant money was incorrectly stated; $80,000 went to the SEMO Port Authority and was used to pave East Road, which the port owns. Canal Wood contributed $20,000 to the project. Approximately $110,000 went to Scott City to install a water well that the city owns and continues to use. Also, the Japanese company that was buying chips from Canal Wood was not the Japanese company that was a minority owner of Canal Wood. The company sold some of its holdings when the president of its board of directors died. The Southeast Missourian regrets the errors.
