Central's Huskey earns 100th career victory

Cory Huskey won his 100th career match Saturday en route to first place in the 160-pound weight division Saturday at the Liberty Invitational.

Central finished sixth as a team, while Huskey was 5-0 in his division to raise his record to 34-3 this year and lift his victory total to 102 for his career.

Other Central finishers:Josh Smoot, second in 140 with a 5-1 mark; Ryan Davis, third in 189, 4-2; Chris Griffith, fourth in 112, 3-2; Dan Koonce, fourth in 135, 3-3; and Matt Latham, fifth in 119, 3-2.

GIRLS BASKETBALL ND 54, Beaumont 27

Notre Dame doubled up Beaumont to advance to the consolation finals of the Queen of Hearts Tournament.

The Bulldogs (5-13) will face Windsor at 12:30 p.m. today.

Kristain Burger led Notre Dame with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

BOYS SWIMMING Springfield Invitational

Central finished sixth out of 18 teams in an invitational meet in Springfield, Mo.

Hunter Givens had a pair of top-10 invidivual finishes to lead the Tigers, who tallied 116 points.

Kansas City Rockhurst won the meet.

Givens was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and sixth in the freestyle. He also was on the 200 medley relay that finished fourth. Also on the team: Daniel Austin, Peyton Waggener and Jason Mercer.
