Rolex tournament

The best young golfers in the nation -- and six foreign countries -- are in the thick of the prestigious American Junior Golf Association's Rolex Tournament of Champions at Dalhousie Golf Club. Today's schedule is the second round of the tournament. The third round is Friday, and the final round and awards ceremony are scheduled for Saturday.

Putting together this five-day event, which started Tuesday with a junior-amateur tournament, is no easy task. Dalhousie Golf Club has provided an outstanding experience for young golfers for the past few years, and its relationship with the AJGA has grown stronger each year. For the second year in a row, Dalhousie has received special recognition from the AJGA.

The Cape Girardeau community is an important part of the Rolex tournament, with 400 volunteers on hand to make sure everything goes smoothly.

And the community benefits in many ways as the host city for the tournament, which includes players who will be the professional leaders in the years to come. Many of the top professionals today are former Rolex tournament winners.
