BENTON, Mo. - A Sikeston man faces drug charges after Scott County sheriff's deputies operating undercover found an alleged small marijuana growing operation, said Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
Paul Norwood, 54 of Sikeston is charged with two counts of manufacturing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond has been set at $65,000.
Walter said undercover deputies purchased controlled substance from Norwood in early June, and got an arrest warrant based on the buy. When they went to Norwood's residence on Marion Street in Sikeston Wednesday afternoon to arrest him, they discovered marijuana plants growing in the back yard, Walter said.
