Police are searching for a man who allegedly snatched a purse from an 84-year-old Cape Girardeau woman who was shopping at Schnucks Monday morning. Sgt. Jason Selzer said that a man grabbed the purse from the woman at the grocery store at 19 S. Kingshighway and fled in a car with a woman who was waiting for him outside the store. The purse was later recovered on Bloomfield Road, but the woman's cash and checkbook were missing.

A day later a 40-year-old Scott City woman was shopping at Schnucks and, when she returned to her 2000 red Chevrolet Cavalier, found her purse stolen. Selzer said the car was unlocked and a blood sugar monitor, spare key and hairbrush were inside the purse.
