Tuesday, June 23, 2009 ~ Updated 2:18 PM

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- The Stoddard County Sheriff's Department reported the seizure of yet another methamphetamine lab in Stoddard County.

The lab, of the shake and bake type growing in popularity in the region, marks the sixth busted by county officers in the past six weeks.

The bust was made on County Road 413 north of Dexter resulting from a year-long investigation. It comes as a result of the combined efforts of the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department and the SEMO Drug Task Force.

William Chad Clayton, age 45 of Dexter, and Richard N. Gregory of Whitewater were arrested and charged with the alleged lab.

Both subjects face one count of the Class C felony of possession of precursors to the manufacture of methamphetamine.

The two suspects remain in Stoddard County Jail in lieu of $125,000 cash-only bond.

Both men are scheduled to appear for arraignment before Judge Joe Z. Satterfield Thursday morning.

Pertinent addresses:

Now that all the local meth labs appear to have moved to the Shake & Bake method (which uses almost no pseudoephedrine) how much longer will citizens still be treating like criminals for trying to buy cold medicine? A decade after all the druggies have given up on using Sudafed will I still be required to register to get a box of it?

If they could not make speed, they would probably find a way to turn water into wine!
